The department of Geography (ECUMENE) is a very promising department of Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya, established in 2002. Geography deals with man in a space and so it is called spatial science. Generally, Geography department captures its own space into the core of Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya and spreads the name of this college not only Purba Medinipur District but also the outer surrounding parts of the district.

Activities

The department has very high reputation in every sphere of the field of Geography. Every year, our students publish wall magazine and also arrange fresher’s Welcome and Farewell programme.The department conducts class tests, mock test on regular basis and also provide sufficient study materials to do best in their discipline. The affectionate relations among the students, parents and teachers are the main strength of our department. The faculty members consistently encourage the students of the Department to take part actively act as volunteers in several College activities and develop their skill and efficiency in leadership and management which make them world wise. They are induced to engage themselves in Social Awareness programmes and Social Service activities by being volunteers in N.S.S & Cadets in N.C.C. They fare forward to support the poor and the distressed and nurture in them rare virtues, patriotism and self sacrifice.
