About Us

The basic purpose of this cell is to give equal opportunity to any deprived group or an individual in the field of higher education.

Under the EOC, the college also has included the below :

  • SC/ST Committee
  • Minority Protection
  • OBC Cell
  • Differently abled persons Welfare Committee
The cell ensures that a conducive environment is created for all the deprived groups and arranges special lectures from time to time by eminent personalities and academicians on topics such as Gender Equality, Equality and Discrimination, Rights of Minorities and Challenges and Challenges faced by differently abled persons. The plan for Equal Opportunity Cell for colleges / Universities is adopted by the UGC in its  XII th Plan (2012-2017). Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya has  established the same in the year 2017-2018.  The cell headed by the Principal, heads of all the departments, other staff and student members chalk out action plans time-to-time to leverage the functionalities of an all-inclusive educational environment.

Objectives of the Cell:

  • To create an atmosphere of Equal Opportunity through awareness generation programmes.
  • To provide auxiliary support towards skill development and enhancing the employability of students.
  • To tailor development and sensitization programmes to meet the distinct needs of the students.
  • To expedite legal redressal in matters of violation of equal opportunity.

Vision of the Cell:

  1. Focusing on overall personality and skill development so as to ensure enhancing their employability.
  2. Inclusive growth for everyone by encompassing everyone into the mainstream of society.
  3. Providing personal counselling and career guidance.
  4. Awareness building and sensitization regarding discrimination on various grounds.
  5. Co-ordinating and working with other committees of the college such as Women’s Development Cell, Remedial Coaching Cell, The Enabling Committee for persons with disabilities, Academic Staff College, HRD as well as student unions and committees for extracurricular activities; for augmenting their own infrastructure and resources for the benefit of persons from aforesaid categories.

Procedure for lodging a complaint:

The students may feel free to submit a grievance in the Format attached below and mail it on grievance@tmvv.ac.in or drop it in a Complaint Box outside Block D, on campus. The Committee will then act upon those cases which have been forwarded, along with the dully filled-in Form.

The Committee will ensure that the grievances are redressed within the stipulated time period.
