About Us

In addition to teaching-learning and extension activities , an educational institution need to encourage creativity, research and provide conducive environment for creative thinking.  A effective research output and innovative teaching method should be encouraged through proper acknowledgement under the broad head of Intellectual Property Rights( IPR). IPR plays a vital role in providing a competitive edge for an institution. Academic and Research Institutions are mainly concerned with managing projects and research initiatives successfully. The protection of their IP Rights will benefit all stakeholders in the commercial as well as societal aspects. Intellectual property refers to the property created and owned by an person through the virtue of human intellect in the form of research or innovative output. Intellectual property rights shall include patents, trademarks, copy rights, trade secrets and other intellectual works  such as computer software or printed material, any new and useful process, simple or complex machine design, composition of matter, copyrighted work, such things as new or improved devices, musical processes, or unique and innovative uses of existing inventions.

The Union Cabinet of India has approved the National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy on 12th May, 2016. The Policy recognizes to foster creative and innovative ideas that are being streaming in India, and to channelize these ideas towards a better and brighter future ahead. The National IPR Policy is a vision document that includes all in a single platform. It broadens IPRs holistically, taking into account all inter-linkages and exploits synergies between all forms of intellectual property (IP), concerned statutes and agencies.

In this direction our college initiated the formation of IPR Cell in 2018 to encourage research and provide conducive environment to researchers and innovators. It also aims to create awareness on IPR among the all stakeholders of the college.

Objectives of the Cell:

  1. To generate awareness and impart knowledge on Intellectual property rights (IPR) among teachers, researchers and students of the college.
  2. To advice and channelize teachers, researchers and students on the importance of IPR.
  3. To conduct seminars, workshops, activities and training programs on IPR.
  4. To provide necessary guidelines on applicable terms and conditions and regulations regarding IPR.
  5. To create interest in latest inventions and discoveries of science in various fields.
